We had seven of them up on the hillside close to us and everybody stopped what they were doing to watch and admire our majestic visitors.
Not all wild moments are pleasant however. We had a leopard take down one of our calves less than a hundred yards from our farmhouse.
Initial feelings of anger however gave way to accepting the situation calmly...... We were in his territory after all and he was only doing what came naturally to him. Ah well, maybe it was a leopardess . Either ways we did the mandatory reporting to the wildlife department and let the whole matter pass.
Actually wished we could leave the carcass and hope for a sighting of the leopard but we just buried the calf the following morning and later that evening we could hear his calls as he searched for his missing prey.
